Andre Peschong, Founding Partner - As an investment banking professional, Mr. Peschong has an extensive background in the creation and evaluation of specialized derivative financial instruments. With years of deal structuring, from due diligence to gauging key risks associated with institutional equity positions within potential investment candidates, to various exit strategies, Mr. Peschong has extensive skills in capital structuring, investment banking and institutional placements. As a frequent speaker and panelist, he is able to easily convey the current state of the equity market with an energetic and thoughtful style.  Mr. Peschong is part of two Angel Investor groups based in Southern California.

As a founding partner of this boutique merchant/investment banking firm, Mr. Peschong has honed his skills for more than 20 years in the creation and evaluation of specialized derivative financial instruments. Mr. Peschong takes an active role in the negotiations between companies and institutional investors and then coordinates subsequent equity infusions into the respective client companies. While at Bridgewater, Mr. Peschong has been instrumental in the completion, through “PIPE” (Private Investment in Public Equity) transactions, of over $300 million in equity related capital infusions for client companies. Additionally, he has completed M&A transactions with over $100 million in enterprise value, spearheaded the transition of ten companies from privately held companies to publicly traded companies with a value creation of over $500 million. Mr. Peschong, along with the two other co-founders of Bridgewater has co-managed three different special situations hedge funds.

Urban Smedeby, Founding Partner - Mr. Smedeby was also the co-founder of two money management firms, establishing Bentley Richards and Associates in 1991 and subsequently forming Bridgewater Capital in 1994. During Urban’s 20 year career in corporate finance he has structured, negotiated and successfully completed transactions for over $250 million in various equity and debt structures. He co-managed Triton Private Equities, one of the first PIPE (Private Investment In Public Equity) funds that set the trend that now has become the standard for small and mid-cap Companies to access secondary financings.  He also co-managed Instream Capital, LLC a convertible debt fund that was a component of a $4 Billion Hedge Fund.  Urban’s ability to access overseas capital markets through his long standing relationships is a key differentiator in the services that Bridgewater Capital provides for its clients.

In connection with Bridgewater he co-managed the Oceanus Value Fund, a fund focusing on bridging the gap between venture backed private Companies and their Initial Public Offering or other liquidity event.  Urban has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and is uniquely qualified to act as a liaison between the founders of companies and the capital markets.  With a  passion for food and wine he is part owner and co-founder of the San Diego Wine and Culinary  Center in addition he also serves as a corporate director of the Swedish American chamber of commerce.

Jack Thomsen, Founding Partner, CPA - His specialty is financial analysis, forensic accounting, financial statement review, deal structuring, and contracts.  Mr. Thomsen has been the CFO of a number of companies both public and private with an emphasis on financial re-structuring, turn-around management and financial statement analysis.  Mr. Thomsen oversees day to day operations for Bridgewater Capital Corporation which include all contract, deal review and legal work.  His skill set enables a quick and thorough  review of the financials and pro forma’s of client companies.  Mr. Thomsen heads Bridgewater Capitals APO department (Alternative Public Offerings), he has a deep understanding of the complex and rigorous process that encompasses this type of transaction.

Prior to co-founding Bridgewater, Mr. Thomsen was the Chief Financial Officer and investment banker with Bentley, Richards and Associates. From 1983 to 1992, Mr. Thomsen was a licensed CPA for local, national and international accounting firms such as Arthur Young and Company and McGladrey & Pullen. Mr. Thomsen has a degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
